Scrooges are on the loose!

With all the hustle and bustle you would think people would be more jolly. Tis the season to be merry, but people are not like that. This time seems to bring out the meanie in people. I would rather avoid the crowds seeing how rude people can be, but then I would miss out on seeing the stores decorated and the lights all around the streets. These are the reasons I drag myself out of the house. I always tell myself it would be better this year than it was last year.

Boy oh boy am I always wrong! Now, don’t get me wrong there are some people that are just nice and they have the ability to be a blessing to your life. There are people that would feed you, clothe you, help you if you are short at the register, pay for your children gifts for you and all sorts of things. Then there are the people that make you want to give them a big hug and some egg nog or tea!

These are the people that you don’t want to bump into. The ones always in a hurry and act as if what they are purchasing is more important than what you are purchasing and they need you out of the way! You know the people, the ones who will run you over with their shopping carts and dare you to act like it bothered you, the ones that will cut in front of you and act like they didn’t see you standing there, the ones that huff and puff if you have a question about an items price once you get to the cashier…yeah those people. The people that bring out the Claire Huxtable in you and make you want to just smack em’…but being the kind, compassionate and understanding person you are you just want to hug them because obviously they have not received enough love in their life.

These are the people that cause me dread whenever I want to think about going to the malls and looking at the decor. This year I determined that I would not let these scrooges get to me. I would smile and wish them well. I would tell them that they have on beautiful garments and that they are pretty, even if I don’t really believe this. That will make them think twice about their nasty attitude and it should cause them to smile.

This is my purpose this season! To make as many people smile.

Have you smiled today? If, not you should, your smile brings out your best features!!!
